This course provides supervised clinical experience in the application of echocardiographic skills within hospital and clinic settings. Students will acquire, document, and assess standard echocardiographic imaging planes of the adult heart under the guidance of credentialed sonographers and echocardiographers. Emphasis is placed on correlating echocardiographic findings with patient history, clinical presentation, and electrocardiographic (ECG) tracings. Students will also develop proficiency in applying medical terminology in documentation, composing preliminary sonographic impressions, and communicating effectively with interpreting physicians.
