Program Description: Radiologic Technology is a specialized allied health field focused on the use of radiation-mainly X-rays-to produce diagnostic images of the human body. This program offers students a combination of academic coursework and hands-on clinical training, equipping them to become skilled, compassionate entry-level radiographers who uphold high standards of professionalism and ethics in their interactions with patients and healthcare professionals. The Radiologic Technology program at Fletcher Technical Community College is an eight semester, 69 credit hour program. It consists of two semesters of pre-requisite coursework and six semesters of clinical. The prerequisite courses are offered face-to-face or online.

Overall Grade Point Average: Overall GPA of 2.75 in prerequisite courses to apply to clinical component of the program. Maintain a 2.0 while in the clinical component of the program.
Course Grade Requirements: Program requirements must be completed with a 77% or better in each course. All RADT courses must be completed with a grade of C or higher on a 7-point grading scale.
Student Learning Outcomes:
Upon successful completion of the Radiologic Technology Associate of Applied Science program, the learner will be able to:
- Master skills necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of an entry-level radiographer
- Master the didactic and clinical skills necessary to function successfully as a radiologic technologist\
- Communicate verbally and non-verbally with the patient, health care personnel, and others in an effective and appropriate manner
- Prioritize critical thinking and problem-solving methods to produce high quality diagnosis images and optimize patient care
- Facilitate the proper use of appropriate radiation safety and protection methods in daily activities as a radiographer
- Support legal, ethical, and professional behaviors as a radiographer and member of the interdisciplinary team
