This course introduces students to essential aspects of patient care in both inpatient and outpatient settings, emphasizing interprofessional collaboration, legal responsibilities, and ethical decision-making in healthcare. Students will learn to take basic vital signs, safely transport patients using proper body mechanics, and follow infection control procedures. Additionally, the course explores healthcare laws, HIPAA regulations, and patients’ rights, with a focus on maintaining professional integrity and safeguarding patient information.
